Healthcare Georgia Foundation Awards $2.1 Million in Grants to 20 Organizations

Foundation establishes Evaluation Resource Center for health nonprofits

Atlanta, GA – January 08, 2010 - Healthcare Georgia Foundation today announced grant awards totaling $2,146,500 to 20 organizations and programs in support of expanding access to affordable, quality health care for Georgia’s underserved population. In response to the economic downturn, ever- increasing demand for charitable care, and stress on the nonprofit sector, the Foundation exceeded its 2009 grantmaking projections by awarding 48 grants totaling more than $3.9 million.

Noteworthy among the awards, is the Foundation’s establishment of an Evaluation Resource Center for nonprofit health organizations throughout Georgia.
